This year the inaugural Piddinghoe Unplugged event will coincide with the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, so on June 3rd we will be celebrating with a day of events throughout the village. The day will begin with traditional village games that have been played here for many of the Queen’s 60 years.
The Royal Oak Survivors pub will be open in the Village Hall, serving local ales and other village fare, a perfect place for a quick pint and catch up with locals and visitors. There will be a DJ in the pub and the occasional busker may wander through.
The Hoe itself will have a Marquee, which as well as being a hub of activity for children will also feature live music from local musicians, a kids’ tea party and even some tea and homemade cake for the adults.
Our fantastic church will play host to five different musical acts throughout the day, offering some cultural respite from the Hoe and the Pub. We have musicians from East Sussex, the village itself and also from as far as London and Manchester (via France). There is also the rare opportunity of ringing the church bell for those who’d like to try.
As the weeks progress we will of course be adding activities to the list of events to make a fun packed day for all ages. Tickets will be available for performances in the church, so you won’t miss out. A full programme with details of acts and times will be with you soon. In the meantime write it in your diary, it will be a busy weekend, but you don’t want to miss this.
Piddinghoe Unplugged great day even better evening.
